Margaret A. Slick

Margaret “Mickey” A. Slick 74, of Forbes Road, Bedford, passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital. She was born March 20, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Frederick W. and Catherine (Miller) Pfunk. On August 4, 1974 in Hollywood, FL she married Charles P. “Chuck” Slick and he survives along with four children: Glen Robert Mowers, married to the former Karen Chesser of Huntersville, NC, Stephanie Ann wife of John Tharp, Tamala Sue wife of James “Butch” Mitchell both of Mansfield, Ohio, Robert Charles “Slick” Hamlin married to the former Roberta Ann McNamara of Mechanicsburg. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren: Chrystal Lyn Allred, James Mitchell II, Douglas M. Mitchell, Nastacia Henrigues, Dannielle Tharp, Ashley Keith Moody Hamlin, Kristen M. Mowers, Clairissa Jean Louise Hamlin, Cole Allen Mitchell, Glen Robert Mowers Jr. Dalton Mitchell, Guy Robert Mitchell, Robert Charles Hamlin II, 13 great grandchildren and two sisters: Catherine Pfunk Mondore of Coral Spring, FL and Lillian Pfunk Monroe of Babylon, NY, a nephew Robert Mondore and wife Diane, two nieces Ellen wife of Frank Stenta, and Gale wife of Michael Sitzer.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Amber Dawn Evans and a son-in-law Derek Shawn Evans.
Mrs. Slick was a member of the Bedford Christian and Missionary Alliance Church where she served as a deaconess and the former Ladies Bible Study teacher. She retired as an assistant Vice President of the former Barnett Bank in Florida.
Funeral Services: Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 11:00 AM from the Bedford Christian and Missionary Alliance Church with Rev. James Haddon officiating. Burial in Bedford Cemetery. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday morning at the church.
