Margaret Emma “Mawee” Morris, 98, of Bedford, died on Monday, October 3, 2011 at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home. She was born on February 20, 1913 in Friedens, a daughter of the late William C. and Grace Anna (Landis) Mowry. On November 5, 1933 in Ohio, she married Walter W. Morris who preceded her in death on August 26, 1990. She is survived by three children: a son, Donald E. Morris, a daughter, Shirley widow of Carl J. Miller both of Bedford, a son, Robert Morris married to the former Dolores Sorge of Hollywood, FL; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Pauline Nicholson, and Doris Jean Sandusky both of Somerset. She was preceded in death by three sisters: Helen Adams, Evelyn Larson, and Alice Koozer and two brothers: William and Donald Mowry.
Margaret retired from the Lions Manufacturing Company after 29 years. She was a member and very involved with the Bedford Village Assembly of God Church on Pitt Street, where she and Norma Zembower taught Sunday school for over 35 years. She enjoyed poetry and crossword puzzles.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bedford Village Assembly of God Church on Pitt Street with Rev. Richard Whetstone officiating. Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford and 1 hour prior to the service, at the Church on Thursday.
