Margaret L. Keys

Margaret “Blackie” Louise Keys, 57, of Scenic Road, Bedford died Sunday, December 4, 2011, at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.  She was born on February 28, 1954, in Bedford, daughter, of the late William E. and Greta Lauren (Allen) Keys Sr.  She is survived by a son, Michael Crawford of Bedford, brother, William Keys Jr.  and wife Linda of Cumberland, MD, sister, Frances  Dickson of Pittsburgh, brother, Van Keys and wife Lugene of Palmyra, and a sister, Janice Leppert and husband Brooke of Bedford.  She was preceded in death by a special friend Clinton Wayne Crawford.

She was a member of Acts Church, in Bedford and retired after 29 years with the PA Turnpike Commission.  She started out as a toll collector, and then an office Clerk and retired as an interchange manager.  She enjoyed her family and the challenge of raising her son as a single parent.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford with the Pastors John and Kim Bennett officiating.  Burial at Bedford Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
