Margaret H. (Imler) Karns

Margaret H. Karns, 97, of Bedford, died Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home. She was born on March 28, 1919, in Bedford, a daughter of the late Harry R. and Clara (Hartman) Imler. On September 23, 1937, in Cumberland, MD, she married Frank G. Karns who preceded her in death on December 13, 1982. She is survived by a son, Harry E. Karns and wife Mary of Bedford, a daughter, Lois J. Hyde, and husband Richard “Dick” of Bedford, seven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild, a brother, Donnie Imler, of Montrose; three sisters, Shirley Cogan, of Schellsburg, Joann Foor, of Cessna, and Jeannie Ferguson, of Manns Choice, and Kate Foor, of Bedford.  She was preceded in death by one daughter Patricia Burkett and one grandson Robert Hyde, five sisters, June Smith, Rita Morris, Dorothy Daily, Jessie Miller, and Mary Lou Logue, three brothers, Robert Imler, Jr., Johnny Imler, Fred Imler, an infant sister, Harriet Jean Imler and an infant brother, Harold Lloyd Imler.

Margaret worked for Howard Johnsons for over 27 years.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at 6:00 p.m., in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor John Bennett officiating.  Burial will be private.  Friends will be received on Saturday, from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
