Margaret Joan (Feathers) Beegle

Margaret Joan Beegle, 84, of Bedford, died on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. She was born on November 2, 1939 in Fishertown, a daughter of the late Chester Blair and Alice Ruth (Miller) Feathers. On June 22, 1958, in Cumberland, MD, she married Carl D. Beegle who preceded her in death on June 30, 2005.  She is survived by four Daughters: Terri L. Beegle of Greencastle;  Brenda L. Mowry and husband William of Bedford;  Lisa G. Seifert and husband Brian of Bedford;  Carla D. Price also of  Bedford; two sons: Barry E. Beegle and wife Brenda of Jonestown; and  Scott A. Beegle of Indiana;  16 grandchildren:  Christina, Justin, Rusty, Brett, Matt and wife Kristina, Brittany, David, Adam, Lindsay, Zach, Alex, Lauren, Ryan, Trenton, and Jacob;  nine great grandchildren:  Donovan, Darian, Kendall, Landon, Aleah, Cye, Billy, Michael, and Tommy; four great-great-grandchildren:  Deighten, Lillian, Klayton, and Delainey; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by a great granddaughter:  Madison; seven brothers Dale, Ted, Don, Bill, Alden, Wayne, and twin brother Meredith; two sisters: Jeanne and Mary Ann.

Joan attended school in Gettysburg and Chestnut Ridge.  She met her husband while working at Howard Johnson’s, and also worked at the Coachroom for many years, Hardee’s, Ressler’s and the Midway Plaza. She and her husband co-owned Jay Blackburn and Sons Hardware Store.   She enjoyed bowling in leagues at the old Chalybeate and the Elks, and spending time with family especially her grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at the Timohty A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, with Jim Miller officiating. Burial at Fishertown Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Arrangements by Timothy A.
