Margaret A. Claycomb

Margaret Ann “Peggy” Claycomb, 54, of Arandale Street, Bedford, died Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at her residence. She was born on April 6, 1959, in Johnstown, a daughter of the late John F. and Patricia M. (Neal) Kohler, surviving of Bedford. On October 25, 1980, in Bedford, she married Jeffrey J. Claycomb who survives along with the following family: a son Breton J. Claycomb, of Bedford; two daughters:  Erin E. Claycomb of Germantown, MD, and Amber M. Claycomb, of Bedford; five brothers: David Kohler, of Scranton,  John Kohler, married to the former Cathy Whysong, of Pavia, James Kohler, married to the former Lorri Clark, of Manns Choice, Regis Kohler, married to the former Ida MacIntyre, of Montoursville, and Fred Kohler married to the former Lisa Hartland, of Manns Choice; one sister Susan, wife of Gregory Wingard of Johnstown.

Peggy was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church, and a 1977 graduate of Chestnut Ridge High School.  She worked as a manger at Graystone Court in Bedford since its opening.  She was a former CCD teacher at the St. Thomas Catholic Church, and a brownie and girl scout leader, from 1993 to 2005. She served on the advisory board for RSVP.  She enjoyed traveling, home projects and being with family and friends. Peggy was a warm and caring person who always had a smile, an out reached hand and a pray full heart for anyone.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 11, 2013, at 10:00 a.m., at the St. Thomas Catholic Church, in Bedford, with Father Donald Dusza, celebrant.  Burial at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Thursday, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, where a vigil for the deceased will be held at 6:00 p.m. Those wishing can make memorial contributions in Peggy’s name to St Judes Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105, or St. Thomas Catholic Church, 215 East Penn Street, Bedford, PA 15522.  Our online guest book is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
