Mahlon U. Dimond, 84, of Upper Snake Spring Valley Road, Everett, died Saturday, March 26, 2005 at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home. He was born on November 4, 1920 in Salemville, a son of the late Harvey K. and Susan S. (Kagarise) Dimond. On August 19, 1945 in Loysburg, He married Margaret P. Stotler and she survives along with the following family, 2 sons, Mahlon U. married to the former Susan Jane Shoemaker of Bedford, and Rodney L. marrried to the former Vickie J. Beegle of Enville, Tn, , 4 grandchildren Katie wife of Chad M. Lakatosh, Marcie E. Dimond, Erin J. Garrard and Claire Dimond, 2 great grandchildren Kelsi & Kade Garrard, 1 Sister, Mildred Coble, 2 Brothers, A. Kenneth and Harold L. "Bill" Dimond. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters: May Robinette and Eldsa Lippincott, and 1 brother Robert Dimond.
He was a member of the Snake Spring Valley Church of the Brethren. He enjoyed his family, gardening and his bird and squirrel feeders. He was a WWII Veteran and served with 8th Air Force of the Army Corps in England. He retired after 32 years from Exxon’s south midway station.
Funeral Services Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at 11:00 AM from the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with the Pastor Janet Sell officiating. Burial in New Enterprise Cemetery. Friends will be received on Monday from 7-9 PM, and 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
