Madolyn "Polly" Pauline (Motto) Hershberger

Madolyn “Polly” Pauline Hershberger, 97, of Bedford, died on Friday, March 20, 2020 at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home. She was born on April 15, 1922, in Bedford, a daughter of the late Bruce and Marie (Wertz) Motto. On September 27, 1942, she married John Raymond Hershberger and he preceded her in death on February 24, 1999. She is survived by a son Barry Hershberger widower of Deanna of Bedford; one grandson:  Travis Hershberger of Peru, IN.; one great grandson:  Blain Hershberger of Somerset. She was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Hershberger; a grandson, Jamie Hershberger; four brothers Edwin, George, Dean, and Donald Motto; and one sister Mildred Wyles Suters.

Madolyn was a member of the Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church and was known by most as “Polly”. In her early life she worked for several restaurants throughout the county that included Bennett’s and The Chicopee. After that she cleaned for several families & businesses in the Bedford area. She was a master cook and baker and enjoyed cooking for & caring for her family & friends and continued to do so into her mid 90’s. She loved to read her bible and did so every day.  She was full of life and love up until her passing and she will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
