Mabel R. Defibaugh

Mabel R. Defibaugh, 87, of Fallow Field Drive, Bedford, died Sunday, March 23, 2003 at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home. She was born on January 27, 1916 in Cessna, a daughter of the late William E. and Ella (Fetter) Hershberger, On April 11, 1936 in St. Clairsville, she married C. Harold Defibaugh who preceded her in death on March 9, 1997. She is survived by the following children: Ronald W. married to the former Mary Cress of Jamestown, OH, Gary L. married to the former Vicky Ferry, Sharon L. wife of Kenneth Burtnett, Barry L. married to the former Star Slick, all of Bedford, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 1 brother Ray Hershberger and a sister Elva wife of Zeke McVicker of Bedford.
Mrs. Defibaugh was a member of St. Paul's Reform Chuch where she attended Sunday school and church since childhood. She was a Charter member of the ladies VFW Auxilliary Post 7527. She graduated from East St. Clair High School in 1934, and retired after 11 years as a cook from the Bedford Elementary School. She also worked for G.C. Murphy Co. and Fisher's Pharmacy.
Funeral Services: Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at 11:00 AM from the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with the Rev. Robert Newell and Rev. Rich Lang officiating. Burial in St. Paul's Cemetery. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, at the funeral home.
