M. Imogene Henderson

January 23, 1924 — November 22, 2013

M. Imogene Henderson, 89, of Bedford, died Friday, November 22, 2013 at Bedford Colonial Courtyard. She was born on January 23, 1924, in Everett, a daughter of the late W. Homer and M. Pearl (Diehl) England. On April 14, 1945, she married James P. Henderson, who preceded her in death on December 8, 1977.  She is survived by a brother, Donald England and wife Marie of Kissimmee, FL; four nieces: Karen wife of Rodney Barber, of Everett, Carol and husband Jim Golden, of Dallastown, Lisa Baker, of Everett, and Carla England, of Richmond, VA; three nephews: Mark England and companion Tammy Rooker, of Leola, Rob England married to the former Sherri Gump, and, Alan England married to the former Gail Duffy, both of Everett; five great-nephews: Seth Barber married to the former Kristyn Dobrota, Josh England married to the former Megan Palovsky, Jason and Jeremy England, and Daniel Baker married to the former Aliza Feaster; one great-great-niece, Afton Baker, and one great-great-nephew, Rylan Barber.  She was preceded in death by two brothers: William H. England Jr., and widow Jean England surviving of Bedford, and Richard England and widow Elizabeth England surviving of Everett.

Imogene was a graduate of Everett Area High School, class of 1940, and retired from Fishers Pharmacy, after 25 years as the bookkeeper.  She was a member of the Bedford Presbyterian Church, where she served as an Elder, and was a member of the Bedford Business and Professional Woman’s Club, serving as past president, and received Woman of the Year many times, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #41, former Old Bedford Village Auxiliary, UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.  She enjoyed playing Bridge, and loved spending time with her family.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with the Rev. Doug Friant officiating.  Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park.  Friends will be received on Tuesday, from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home, and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m., until the hour of the service.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make donations in Imogene’s memory to the: Bedford Presbyterian Church, 144 S.
