Lynne M. Berkebile, 65, of Forbes Road, Bedford, died Friday, December 2, 2011 at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was born August 1, 1946, in Oil City, daughter of the late William H. and Helen (Taylor) Lilly. On August 2, 1969, in Oil City, she married Timothy A. Berkebile and he survives along with two sons, Mark A. Berkebile married to the former Susan Gilbert of Scotland, and Aaron W. Berkebile married to the former Amber Locke of Bedford. Also surviving are two grandsons; Devin and Timmy, two step-granddaughters; Paige and Madison, and a brother Steven T. Lilly and wife Margo of Erie.
Lynne was a member of the Bedford Presbyterian Church where she had served as a Deacon and an Elder. She was a graduate of Oil City High School Class of 1964, and Robert Morris Jr. College. After college she worked as a secretary for Wilson Sporting Goods in Pittsburgh until moving to Bedford with her husband where she was a homemaker. She was a member of the former 20th Century Club and the Jaycee-ettes. She loved boating at Raystown Lake, playing golf and bridge.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, with Rev. Doug Friant officiating. Burial at Bedford Cemetery. Friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday morning.
