Lorraine I. “Rainy” Batzel 71 of School St., Bedford, died Friday May 11, 2007 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital. She was born January 20, 1936 in Portage daughter of Leona (Kause) Border of Bedford and the late Russell Border. On June 24, 1966 in Bedford she married Cloyd Batzel Jr. and he preceded her in death on November 27, 2000. She is survived by the following children: Randy L. Batzel married to the former Mary Sherry, Dale W. Batzel married to the former Kelly Crawley, Deborah Rose all of Bedford, Audrey Baughman of Virginia Beach, VA, Russell Rhodes of Florida and a Step-Son Clyde W. Batzel married to the former Edna G. Corrie of Everett. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Ronald Border and wife Ruby, Richard Border and wife Deborah, Donald border and wife Kay all of Bedford, Audrey widow of Jack Christ of Windber and Joan wife of Richard Jezeskie of Ryot. She was preceded in death by a son Ricky Border and a sister Junita Camberchie.
Mrs. Batzel had worked as a cook at numerous restaurants in the Bedford area and retired from Subway in 2006. She loved to play Bingo.
