Lois Evelyn Cussins, 88, of Sunnybrook Acres, Bedford, died early Monday morning, March 18, 2013 at the Altoona Hospital. She was born March 27, 1924 in Bedford TWP, daughter of the late J. Carl and Edna (Diehl) Oster. On April 10, 1943 in Cumberland, MD, she married Glen R. Cussins and he survives along with two daughters, Glenna wife of Joseph Caro of Bedford and Mary Ellen wife of Mark Adams of Elizabethtown, eight grandchildren: James, Josh, Matthew Foster, Beau Caro, Carly wife of Scott Caves, Daniel Caro and companion Janel Novak, Christina and Clifford Adams, six great grandchildren, Jake and Joey Twigg, Sara, Olivia, Christian and Corinn Foster, two step great grandchildren; Ethan and Dalton. She was preceded in death by a daughter Beverly and her husband Richard Caro, two brothers; R. Dale and J. Carl (Bud) Oster, she was the last member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Cussins graduated from Bedford High School, class of 1941. After graduation she worked ten years for at the Agricultural Conservation Office in Bedford, then retiring to become a homemaker. She was a member of Bedford Trinity Lutheran Church.
She was a loving wife who loved her family and enjoyed crafting, ceramics, and bowling. For the past 26 years, she enjoyed spending time with her husband at their cottage at Deep Creek, MD, and 20 years of spending winters in Florida.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Rev. Raymond E. Short officiating. Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park. Friends will be received today, Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday from 12:00 noon until the time of service.
