Lloyd C. Davis

Lloyd C. Davis, 87, of Bedford, died Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at his residence. He was born on May 1, 1929, in Bedford, a son of the late Luther and Susan (Barley) Davis. On June 6, 1949, he married Anna M.(Miller) Davis and she preceded him in death on May 30, 2004. He is survived by two sons, Russell Davis and wife Connie, of Bedford, and Paul Davis, of Everett; five grandchildren:  Dale Wheeland and wife Charity Lynn of Spring Mills, Mary (Wheeland) Bard and husband Ryan, of Fayetteville, NC, Ryan Davis and wife Staci, of Carlisle, Chad Davis and wife Kim, of Clarion, Calla (Davis) Dierling and husband Alex, of Bedford; eight great-grandchildren Erin, Matthew, Bonnie, Anna, Ben, Cole, Bryce, and Emma.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie A. Wheeland widower Thomas who survives of Bedford; six brothers: Edgar, Glenn, Harry, Louis, Paul, and John Davis; two sisters:  Caroline Keith and Elizabeth Cuppett.

Lloyd attended various churches in the area and was a mechanic for Don Rice Ford. He then drove truck for Koontz’s Milk hauling and retired from Tri County Bulk Milk Hauling in 1991.  After his retirement he worked part time for Bedford Pallets.  He enjoyed his family, hunting, watching old westerns and telling stories.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 7, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Rev. Dan Oldham officiating.  Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park.  Friends will be received on Thursday from 5 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.   Our online guest book is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
