Lloyd "Tex" C. Cessna

Lloyd C. “Tex” Cessna 92, of Friends Cove, died Sunday, January 19, 2025.  He was born on March 20, 1932 in Bedford, a son of the late William W. and Geotha (May) Cessna.  On September 10, 1954 in Winchester, VA he married Shirley (Wolfe) Cessna who survives along with four children: Sharon Stiffler and husband Steve, of Bedford, Scarlet Baldwin and husband Don, of Boulevard, CA, Gregory Cessna, of Boise, ID, and Carey “Poncho” Cessna widower of Sue, of Tuscon, AZ; six grandchildren: Tim Stiffler, Toby Stiffler, Stacey Cortes, Jamie Boiteau, Rijal St. Michael, and Zephyr St Michel; six great-grandchildren: Gavin Boiteau, Gabe Cortes, Elizabeth Cortes, Nichalus Stiffler, Morgan Stinson, and Brett Stinson; and a sister Rebecca Wolfe, of Rainsburg. He was preceded in death by eleven siblings: Edna Mae “Pet” Howsare, George A. Cessna, Lawrence “Rabbit” Cessna, Wesley “Pinky” Cessna, Dale Cessna, Clarence “Sambo” Cessna, William “Pud” Cessna, Lee Cessna, Joanie King, infants Mary and Dorothy Cessna.

Tex served with the Merchant Marines for five years, and then the U.S. Army for two years.  He was a lifelong truck driver before retirement, and thoroughly enjoyed hunting and yardwork.  He was dearly loved by his children and grandchildren.
