Linda L. Tew, 73, of Teaberry Road, Bedford, died Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at her residence. She was born on September 25, 1938, in Johnstown, a daughter, of the late Paul and Leah (Wilson) Pringle. On August 5, 1977, in Bedford, she married Tom F. Tew who survives along with two sons: Todd E. Tew Sr. of Fishertown, and Timothy L. Stuart of Hannibal, MO; nine grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; four brothers: George Pringle and wife Dorothy of Massachusetts, James Pringle and wife JoAnn of Schellsburg, Glenn Pringle and wife Lorrie of Virginia, Charles Pringle of Alum Bank; a sister, Charlotte Bozich of New Paris; and her dog and best friend Buddy. She was preceded in death by a son Scott P. Stuart widow Elaine, surviving, of Fishertown, and two sisters: Gladis Tighe and Mary Coyle.
Linda worked as a bartender and waitress at local establishments such as the K & M, Hillcrest Inn, and the Bedford Springs.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 21, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with the Rev. Grace Whitfield officiating. Burial at the Bedford County Memorial Park. Friends will be received on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
