Lillian L. Easter

Lillian  L. Easter,  89, of Bedford, died Friday, May 6, 2005 at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home.  She was born on December 25, 1915 in Bedford, a son of the late Humphrey T. and Mary (Pressel) Smith. On March 3, 1934 in Cumberland, Md she married Thomas E. Easter and he preceded her in death on December 28, 1965.  She is survived by 2 sons: Clair U. married to the former Sally Ullom of Everett, and , Clay T. married to the former Anna C. Wolfhope of Bedford, 1 Daughter, Janie L. wife of William Groff of Martinsburg, 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren,  She was preceded in death by 2 Brothers James R. and Jesse D. Smith and 1 sister Helen Beegle.

She was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ and attended Bedford Church of the Brethren, She worked in the Bakery at the former IGA, Diest Cleaners, and worked as a waitress at the Elks.  She was also co-owner of Easter's Grocery Store. She loved to bowl in the leagues, and  enjoyed her grandchildren & great grandchildren.

Funeral Services Monday, May 9, 2005, at 11:00 AM from the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, with the Rev. Steven Voelker officiating.  Burial in Bedford Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Monday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
