Leo R. Mazman 86, of Bedford died Saturday July 2, 2016 at Bedford Colonial Courtyard. He was born on May 1, 1930 in Johnstown a son of the late Samuel and Ann (Salutes) Mazman. On August 12, 1956 in Johnstown he married his wife of 60 years, Sylvia (Dragovich) Mazman who survives along with two nephews: Mark Mazman, and wife Nancy, and Samual Mazman Jr. and wife Camilla, a niece Laura Mazman; two cousins, Catherine Simmers of Zionsville, IN, and Delores Kotnicki of Indiana, a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Zerof of California, and numerous other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son Neil R. Mazman, and a brother Samuel Mazman, widow Emily Mazman surviving of Ludington, MI.
Mr. Mazman was a US Navy Veteran serving on the USS Huntingdon as a radioman. He then went on to graduate from meat cutting school in Toledo, OH, and worked for worked for ACME Markets and Fox groceries for many years. He retired as the owner of Giant Eagle in Bedford after 18 years. Leo was a scout master for several years, and was an avid sportsman and golfer. He loved to watch his favorite sports teams the Pittsburg Pirates, Steelers, and Penguins. He was a member of the Bedford United Methodist Church, Bedford Elks Lodge #1707, and Bedford Lodge 320 F&AM.
Funeral services and burial will be private.
