Lena B. Gardner

Lena B. Gardner 92 of Seifert St. Bedford, died Friday September 14, 2001 at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home.  She was born on September 24, 1908 in Central City, Pa.  a daughter to the late John C. and Violet (Ellenberger) Ross.  On September 3, 1926 in Bedford, Pa.  She married Dennis Gardner who preceded her in death on August 20 1983.  She is survived by the following grandchildren:  R. Dent Mortimer married to the former Linda Hazelette of Bedford, Pa., Kathleen Barrett of Dawsonville, GA, and Alan Gardner married to the former Pam Polishen of Crabtree, Pa., 8 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by 2 children:  Robert D. Gardner husband of Bonnie of Bedford, and Marilyn Hendon, a brother John and two infant brothers David and Manford, sisters Hazel Coleman, Hulda Kauffman, Nada Smith, and an infant sister Neva,

Mrs. Gardner was a member of the Tulls Hill Bible Church, she was once employed as a waitress at the following places Bingham’s Restaurant, New Hoffman Hotel, and the Penn Bedford Hotel, she also worked for Maurice’s Department Store and for the Bedford School District as a cafeteria worker.

Memorial Services: Tuesday, September 18, 2001 at 11:00 AM from the Tulls Hill Bible Church with the Rev. Jonathan Hoard officiating.  Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park.  Friends can be received a half-hour prior to the service at the church.  In Lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions can be made to the Tulls Hill Bible Church, 1847 Tulls Hill Road, Bedford, Pa. 15522.  Arrangements made by Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford.
