Kenneth M. Williams, 77, of Ross Drive, Bedford, died Monday, July 7, 2014 at his residence. He was born on July 23, 1936, in Clearville, a son of the late Simon H., and Alice E. (Steckman) Williams. On October 4, 1958, in Bedford, he married Margaret (Morrison) Williams who preceded him in death on September 14, 2011. He is survived by the following family: a son, Kenneth Williams Jr. and wife Pam, of Everett, two daughters, P.J. McGillivray and husband Mike, of Vacaville, CA, and Maura W. Foor, and husband Rich of Bedford; son-in-law: Rick Mallow of Clearville; six grandchildren: Desni Dantone and husband Stephen, Sean McGillivray, Patrick McGillivray and wife Kiera, Kane Williams, and Kaitlyn and Konner Foor; one great-grandson, Nicholas Dantone; and two brothers: Bill Williams of Clearville, Simon Williams, and wife Patty, of Dillsburg. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Annita K. Mallow, and one brother, Mike Williams and a sister, Doris Jean Mills.
Known as Pap, he was a 1952 graduate of Everett Southern Joint High School and then served in the U.S. Air Force, from 1954 to 1962. He was stationed in various locations around the world including, North Africa, England, Wyoming, and New Hampshire. He then went on to work for Barron’s Farm Home & Garden, Kilcoin Block, Grove Manufacturing in Greencastle, and then retired from Snyder’s Gateway. Pap was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan and a member of the Bedford American Legion Post #113. He enjoyed spending his retirement being a grandfather, and great-grandfather.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor Ron Hott officiating. Burial will be private, with full military rites conducted by the Everett Area Honor Guard. Friends will be received on Wednesday, from 10:00 a.m., until the hour of the service, at the funeral home.
