Keith A Stuart

Keith A. Stuart 75, of Bedford died Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home.  He was born on January 14, 1941 in Indiana, a son of the late David J. and Loie K. (Johnson) Stuart.  On February 18, 1967 in Hagerstown, MD he married Sandra (Souders) Stuart who survives along with a daughter, Julie L. Stuart, and a son Dr. Randall K. Stuart, married to the former Diane Barkman, both of Bedford; four grandchildren: Tyler and Zachary Grimes, and Natalie and Matthew Stuart; two great-grandchildren: MaKenna and Makaela; a brother David Stuart and wife Lorraine of Bend, OR, and a sister Barbara DeWitt wife of Scott of Pittsburgh. He was preceded in death by three sisters: Helen Cole, Gail Miller, and Marcia Stump, and his best friend Rick Duffey.

Keith was a proud United States Army Veteran and retired after 37 years from the Pennsylvania Department of Forestry.  He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, and spending time at the cabin he built on Martin Hill in Beans Cove.  Keith was a generous, friendly man, who never met a stranger, and was a true gentleman to the end.  He loved his grandchildren, and leaves behind a loving family, who will sorely miss him.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Lay Minister Jim Miller officiating.  Burial will be held privately will full military rites conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.  Friends will be received on Friday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m., at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers those wishing may make donations in Keith’s name to: PA Wounded Warrior Project, 1117 Country Club Rd, Camp Hill, PA 17011.  Our online guestbook is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com
