Joyce E. (Hammer Lundstedt) Laher

Joyce E. (Hammer Lundstedt) Laher, 84 of Bedford, died peacefully surrounded by her loved ones at her home in Bedford Colonial Courtyard on Friday, July 29, 2016.  She was born on July 27 1932, the first of three children to the late Quentin and Ruth (Ickes) Hammer.  She was first married to USAF Captain Jack E. Lundstedt who preceded her in death.  On February 10, 1962 in Bedford she married Donald S. Laher Jr., who preceded her in death on October 10, 2010.   She is survived by the following family: a daughter Jill E. (Lundstedt) wife of David Driver of Riverview, FL, a son Jack E. Lundstedt Jr. and wife Tina of Monrovia, MD, and a son James E. Lundstedt and wife Lisa, of Lumberton, NJ, five grandchildren: Lindsey Driver, Chrysanthi Lundstedt, Quentin Lundstedt, Alexandra Lundstedt, and Jack Lundstedt III; a sister Lois Scheowe, of Allison Park, and many loving nieces, nephews, and family members.  She was preceded in death by a son Robert S. Laher, and a brother David Hammer.

Joyce attended West Penn School of Nursing in Pittsburgh.  She had many friends and was a member of the “Duckie” Woman’s Group, Bedford County Garden Club, Bedford Arts and Crafts Guild, and a lifetime member of the Bedford Presbyterian Church.  She was a former Girl Scout Leader, and an avid gardener and bridge player.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at 5:00 p.m., at the Bedford Presbyterian Church with Rev. Doug Friant officiating.  Burial will be Private.  Arrangements by the Timothy A.
