Josephine K. Hine

Josephine K. Hine 86 of Rebbecca’s Personal Care Home, formerly of South Thomas Street, Bedford died Tuesday August 7, 2001 at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home.  She was born on December 5, 1914 in Yonkers, Ney York daughter of the late Thomas and Nellie (Karasinki)Wolinski.  On May 4, 1947 she married Kalman Hine, who preceded her in death on June 14 1990.  She is survived by the following children:  Sara wife of Thomas Songer of State College, Pa., Carol wife of William Snyder Jr. of Bedford, Pa., April wife of Jerry Saylor of West Middlesex, Pa., Robert married to the former Sharon Shryock of Bedford, Pa., and  8 grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by 1 brother and 2 sisters.

Mrs. Hine was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Needlers Quilting Group, and she was a  former member of the Hospital Auxiliary. She retired from Engle’s Men’s shop in Bedford and prior to that was co-owner of the Hine Clothing Store.

Funeral services will be held Thursday August 9, 2001 at 11:00 AM from the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with the Father Raymond G. Crosser Officiating. Burial in the St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery. Friends can be received Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.  Contributions can be made to the Bedford County Chamber Foundation, 137 East Pitt Street, Bedford, Pa. 15522.
