Joseph B. Lohman

Joseph B. Lohman  87 of 177 Arandale Street, Bedford, died Wednesday June 27 at his home.  He was born December 13, 1913 in Bedford County, son of the late Joseph and Ella (Fisher) Lohman.  On January 23, 1937 he married Freda “Johnnie” McGregor and she preceded him in death on October 10, 1993.  Surviving are the following children : Joseph L. “Monty” married to the former  Orilee Roller of York,  Pa.  and James F. married to the former Marlene Brough of Bedford, Pa.  Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 1 brother  James V. of Great Vine, Texas and 1 sister Mary of Bedford.  He was preceded in death by  1 brother John.

Mr. Lohman was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church, life charter of the elks lodge 1707, he was also elk of the year and formed the elks bowling tournaments.  He retired after 45 years as an agent for Nationwide Insurance.

Mass of Christian Burial:  Saturday at 10:00 AM from St. Thomas Catholic Church in Bedford with the Rev. Raymond G. Crosser officiating.  Burial at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery.  Friends can be received Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford where a vigil for the deceased will be held at 8:00 PM.
