Joseph A. Bomblosky

April 28, 1960 — October 7, 2014

Joseph A. Bomblosky, 54, of Bedford, died on October 7, 2014, at his residence with his wife of 28 years by his side and his loving dog Scrappy.   Joe fought bravely for the past four years. First of a rare lung disease and lung transplant and then passed away of pancreatic and liver cancer.  He was born on April 28, 1960, in Pittsburgh, a son the late Joseph C. Bomblosky and Anna (Sefranko) Bomblosky.

He is survived by his wife and soul mate, Brenda D. Bomblosky, of Bedford, two sisters:  Janet married to Philip Kaplan of Columbus OH; and Joanne married to Panfilo Federico of Pittsburgh; one sister-in-law, Vickey, wife of the late Dale Murray of New Paris; also surviving are the following nieces and nephews:  Gino Federico, Vanessa Sidick, Nina Federico all of Pittsburgh; and AnnaLee Stover, Rachel Kaplan, Michael Kaplan and Kyle Kaplan all of Columbus, OH; and Brock and Tressa Hillegass of New Paris; also his mother and father -in-laws Owen and Karen Buterbaugh and  Wayne and Arbutus Dull.  Plus many dear friends that made his life special.

Joe attended church at the Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church.  He has a strong faith and knew he was going to be with his savior in heaven.  He worked all his life in construction as a Brick Mason and most recently at Bedford Pallets. Joe is a Veteran and served in the United States Navy and also Navy Reserves.  He is a member of the Bedford American Legion, Post # 113,  Pleasantville VFW Post # 9219, Bedford American Legion Riders,  He enjoyed golfing, traveling, his motorcycle and working outside.  He was a loving, caring, and a kind person to all. He also enjoyed his loving dogs and had a great compassion for animals.  Anyone who knew Joe knows he was a kind and amazing person and heaven has received a special angel.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Rev. Dan Oldham officiating.  Burial at Schellsburg Cemetery, with full military rights conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
