John R. Richards

John Russell “Russ” Richards, 36, of Gloucester, VA, died Thursday, March 29, 2012.  He was born on April 5, 1975, in Newport News, VA, a son, of the late John E. Richards Jr. and Louise (Fortin) Richards surviving of Manns Choice.  He is survived by two sons:  John and Brendan Richards, a brother Randy and wife Debbie, a brother, Rick and wife Janeth all of Newport News, VA, a brother, Terry and wife Patricia of Sierra Vista, AZ, a brother, Jody and wife Teresa a brother, Corey all of Gloucester, VA, a sister, Mary Grace Taylor and husband Kevin, of  NC,  a brother, Sean and fiancee Carrie of Navarre, FL, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother.

Russ was 1993 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School.  He was an EMT in Bedford County and Asst. Soccer Coach with his dad.  He served in the U.S. Army for nine years and completed a tour in Kosovo.  His last duty assignment was Walter Reed Hospital he worked there as a health care specialist.  He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and was a Steeler’s fan.
