Joann L. Hickey

Joann L. Hickey 72 of Preston St., Bedford, died Sunday, September 28, 2008 at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home.  She was born January 20, 1936 in Westmoreland County, daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Leonard) Lynch.  On April 28, 1956 in New Baltimore, she married Charles J. Hickey and he preceded her in death on October 17, 2003.  She is survived by the following children: Joseph M. Hickey married to the former Daune Cavalier of Greensburg, James E. Hickey of Bedford, Michele Wife of Gregg Allen of State College, Ronald V. Hickey married to the former Sharon Vantroba of Bedford, Pamela J. Hickey of Alexandria, VA, eight grandchildren: Kevin, Katie, Kristin, Colleen, Kendall, Travis, Joshua, Brianna ,a brother Donald Lynch married to the former Norma Jean Smith of New Baltimore.  She was preceded in death by a grandson Ryan Allen, a brother James Lynch, Sister Kate Keller and an infant brother and sister.

Mrs. Hickey was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Bedford and had been a food service worker for Bedford School District.  She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and had volunteered at Old Bedford Village.

Funeral Mass: Wednesday, 10:00 AM from St. Thomas Catholic Church in Bedford with Father Raymond G. Crosser Celebrant.  Burial at St. John The Baptist Church Cemetery in New Baltimore.  Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford where a vigil for the deceased will be held at 3:00 PM.  Those wishing may make contributions to The Home Nursing Agency,. P. O.
