Joan C. Murray

Joan C. Murray, 76, of Shobers Run Lane, died Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at her daughter’s residence in Chesterfield, VA.  She was born on October 29, 1938 in Latrobe, a daughter of the late Edward and Stella (Smith) Reeping.  On June 30, 1956 at Sacred Heart Church, in Youngstown, she married Carl J. Murray who survives along with the following family: a daughter Barbara Arnett (David), of Chesterfield, VA, a son Carl Jeffrey Murray (Robin) a daughter Veronica (George), of Camp Hill, a daughter Cathleen Pessolano (Brian) and a son Patrick Murray; 11 grandchildren: Scott Arnett (Amy), Christopher Murray (Priscilla), Rebecca Bryson (Justin), Adam Murray (Shelley), Jeremy Arnett, Theresa Trent (John), Joshua Arnett (Gina), Amanda Arnett, Aaron, Matthew, and Caitlin Pessolano; 8 great-grandchildren: Ashley, Kylee, Juliet, Jacob, Henry, Jack, Holly, and Faye; a brother Edward Reeping (Judith); two aunts: Mary Margaret, and Rose Joanne; close family and friends, Donna, Mark, Elizabeth, and Matthew.

Mrs. Murray was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church, and their Women’s Guild.  She was a member of the Bedford Moose Lodge #480, Women of the Moose, Bedford Garden Club, and Hyndman Lioness Club.  She loved her faith, friends, and family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 2, 2015 at 10:00 a.m., at the St. Thomas Catholic Church, in Bedford, with Father Donald Dusza, Celebrant.  Burial at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Sunday, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., at the Timothy A.
