Jill (Heckman) Drenning

Jill (Heckman) Drenning, 56, of Bedford, died on November 3, 2026 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. She was born on December 7, 1969 in Everett, a daughter of the late Joe G. and Joan (Weist) Heckman. On September 14, 2010 in Bedford, she married John “Jack” Drenning and he preceded her in death on November 24, 2020. She is survived by aunt Joyce (Heckman) Zimmerman and husband Bruce of Hopewell; aunts and uncles Louise Weist, Lloyd Weist, David Weist, Tracey Weist, and Vernon Weist all of Breezewood and Ronald Weist of Lienor, NC; niece Jennifer Marion of Arlington, VA; brothers-in-law Barry Dietz of Friedens and Max Drenning and wife Joy of New Bloomfield; and a step-mother Beverly (Heckman) Morris and husband Richard of Washington. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Sanford and Arlene (Colledge) Heckman and Dwight and Francis (Pittman) Weist, an uncle Gerald “Jerry” Heckman, and an aunt Donna Heckman.

Jill was a 1987 graduate of Everett High School and attended St. Paul’s Reformed Church. Jill always had a smile on her face, and she never met a stranger. She deeply treasured the things that meant everything to her, which were her family, friends, and her dogs Oscar and Otis. She grew up on the family farm helping her dad for many years and then worked in the factories before changing to office work. She worked for Bedford County for the last 24 years in different offices, ending in the DRO office. Jill enjoyed fishing, flower gardening and arranging, painting, drawing, and telling jokes.

Funeral Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
