Jean "Jill" E. (Eichelberger) Bailey

Jean "Jill" E. Bailey, 78, of Bedford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Select Specialty Hospital in Johnstown. She was born on May 21, 1938 in Cumberland, a daughter of the late Richard and Jean (Brice) Eichelberger. She is survived by two daughters:  Nicole E. Edwards and husband Trent, of Bedford, and Kristina S. Lear and husband Robert, of Charles Town, WV; six grandchildren:  Larkyn, Matthew, and Joshua Edwards, Logan D., Haylei E., and Holdyn E. Lear.

Jill was a member of the Bedford United Methodist Church. She graduated from Bedford High School in 1956 and Penn State University with a degree in Bachelor of Arts in 1960.  She worked as an artist and taught art for a year and did some substituting at Bedford, she also gave private lessons.  She enjoyed playing cards at the weekly bridge club and helping the Bedford County Players design their sets.  She was the former director for the Bedford County Agriculture Society and worked at the Bedford County Fair for many years.  She was also a former Girl Scout troop leader.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 20, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., at the Bedford United Methodist Church, with Jim Miller officiating.  Burial will be private.  Friends will be received on Sunday, from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.   Those wishing can make memorial contributions in Jill’s name to the Bedford County Players, P.O.
