Janet Gilpin, 96, of Pennknoll Road, Everett, died Saturday, February 24, 2007 at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home. She was born on October 11, 1910 in Monroe TWP, a daughter of the late Howard and Minnie (Pittman) Pennell. She was married to Earl Gilpin and he preceded her in death in 1981. She is survived by two daughters Virginia wife of Eugene Jay of Transfer, Fredarica wife of Fred J. Barkman of Clearville, one son, Gene Gilpin married to the former Marie Lockard of Fishertown, 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a sister, Florence Williams of Miami, FL. She was preceded in death by 5 sisters: Elva, Georgie, Lillian, Janie & Estella.
She was affiliated with the Baptist Church of Everett enjoyed Painting, Latch hooking, and Jigsaw puzzles. She worked at various restaurants. She retired after 18 years working as a Dietician for for Pennwood Nursing home.
Funeral Services: Tuesday, February 27, 2007, at 11:00 AM from the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor Randy Eckman officiating. Burial at the mausoleum at Bedford Cemetery. Friends will be received on Monday from 7-9 PM, at the funeral home, and 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
