Jane H. Stroup

Jane H. Stroup 73 of S. Richard St., Bedford, died Sunday, July 27, 2008 at her residence surrounded by her family.  She was born October 9, 1934 in Cumberland, MD, daughter of Mabel (Alt) Howsare of Bedford and the late Carl Howsare.  On November 20, 1955 in Bedford she married Gordon E. Stroup and he survives along with five children: Stanley W. Stroup of Wayne, Steven M. Stroup, and wife Janice of Bedford, Tammy L. wife of  Pat Watson of Bedford, Kathleen T. wife of Doug Kifolo of Port Matilda, and Daniel G. Stroup of Bedford, also ten grandchildren: Ryan J. Stroup, Zerick Stroup, Quentin Stroup, Catie Stroup. Samantha Stroup, Alex Stroup, Steven Stroup, Lance Kifolo, Lincoln Kifolo and Liam Stroup, one sister Judy Koontz of Bedford and five step-grandchildren: Jennifer Watson, Jessica Watson, Alyssa Kifolo, Briana Kifolo, and Dominique Kifolo. She was preceded in death by one brother William Howsare.

Mrs. Stroup was a member of St. John’s UCC in Bedford.  She was a graduate of Catherman’s Business School and worked part-time as a secretary for Stroup & Stroup.  She was a loving wife and mother and enjoyed gardening, reading, music and interior decorating.

Memorial services: Thursday 11:00 AM in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home with Rev. Joseph R. Puleo officiating.  Burial at Schellsburg Cemetery.   Friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flower’s those wishing may make contributions to:  St. John’s United Church of Christ, 144 W.
