James R. “Jim” Stiffler, 79, of Orchard Way, Bedford, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 3, 2015 at his residence. He was born on September 8, 1935, in Bedford, a son of the late Benjamin and Rena (Bingham) Stiffler. On October 29, 1989, in Bedford, he married Patricia R. Brown who survives along with the following family: a son, Russell J. Stiffler of CA; a step-son, Courtney L. Guyton and wife Pamela of Claysburg; one granddaughter, Nancy J. Housel; three step-grandchildren: Tyler, Jered, and Emily; a brother, John Stiffler and wife Margie of Feasterville; a sister, Dorothy Housel and husband Bill of Buffalo Mills. He was preceded in death by his first wife Nancy J. (Hensel) Stiffler, and one brother, Robert Stiffler, and wife Hazel who survives of Centerville.
James was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Friends Cove. He worked for Standard Register for 27 years until they closed. He then went to work for the Chestnut Ridge School District in the custodial department. Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 7, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity United Church of Christ in Friends Cove, with Bruce Ashlock officiating. Burial at the Church Cemetery. Friends will be received on Thursday from 3 - 7 p.m. at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
