James L. Ritchey

James L. Ritchey, 81, of Altoona, died May 31, 2014, at UPMC Altoona Hospital.  He was born on April 29, 1933, in Broad Top, a son of the late, Floyd and Mildred (Reed) Ritchey.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Ritchey, and is survived by a special friend, Pearleen Allison, of Altoona, a nephew, Jeff Cogan, of Martinsburg, and four nieces, Carol Cogan, of Everett, Jayme Clark, Cindy Morgan, and Robin Knepp, all of Saxton.  He was preceded in death by a brother, William Ritchey, and two sisters, Helen Ritchey, and Arlene Cogan.

James employed as an equipment operator for New Enterprise Stone & Lime, and later for PennDot.  He was a member of the NRA, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to auctions.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor Alfred Chamberlain officiating.  Burial at Broad Top City I.O.O.F. Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Tuesday, from 9:00 until the hour of the service, at the funeral home.  Our online guestbook is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com
