James M. 'Mike' Green

James M. ‘Mike’ Green Jr., 70 of Bedford, died Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center, in Altoona.  He was born on September 24, 1947, in Huntingdon, a son of the late James M. and Helen M. (Eichelberger) Green Sr.  He is survived by a daughter, Shawn Nicole Green, of Schellsburg; two grandchildren: Laken Janae Kiel and Shealen Rayn Weyandt; a sister: Mary Elizabeth Carter and husband James, of Wilkins Twp; a nephew: Jason Carter; and a niece: Jennifer Carter.  He was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Aubrey Novac.

Mike worked for Bittner Vending and Claar Mobile Home Transport.  In his early days he worked for ABC as a spotter for the cameraman at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, and at Indianapolis Speedway during the Indy 500 races.  He was a member of the Bedford United Methodist Church, Bedford VFW Post #7527, Bedford American Legion Post #113, and served as an officer with the Bedford Moose Lodge #480.  He was an avid Nascar and Pittsburgh Steeler fan.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Lay Minister Jim Miller officiating.  Burial at Fishertown Cemetery, with full military rites conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.  Friends will be received on Thursday, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service on Friday.  Our online guestbook is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com
