James F. “Jim” Thomas, 82, of Bedford, died on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. He was born on June 23, 1943 in Roaring Spring a son of the late Roger and Ruth (Miller) Thomas. On March 23, 1963 in Everett, he married Donna L. (Hite) Thomas who survives along with a son, Brian J. Thomas of Mechanicsburg, two grandchildren: Tyler Thomas of Lemoyne, and Zach Thomas of Camp Hill; and one great-grandson Malachi Brock of Stevens.
Jim owned and operated the Hardee’s restaurant in Bedford for many years. He was an active member of the Jaycee’s, Lion’s Club, Big Possum’s, and the American Legion. After his retirement from Hardee’s Jim worked for the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home and he created a business with his son buying and selling sports cards and memorabilia.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Pastor Martin Wickens officiating. Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park. Friends will be received on Friday from 10 - 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
