James D. Frye, 77, of West John Street, Bedford, died Thursday, July 3, 2014, at Golden Living Center Hillview, in Altoona. He was born on November 4, 1936, in Phillipsburg, a son of the late Robert J. and Mabel (Funk) Frye. On October 4, 1958, in Cumberland, MD, he married Beverly A. (Bagley) Frye, who survives along with the following family: two daughters, Jody A. Frye, and Karen S. Frye, both of Bedford; two grandchildren: James R. Frye and wife Crystal, and Ashley N. Frye; two great-grandchildren: Madison L., and Aubrie L. Frye; two brothers: Max R. Frye and wife Sydney, of Arizona, and Arthur L. Frye, of Port Matilda; and a sister Anita Faye Newman, of State College.
Mr. Frye was of the Methodist Faith. He was employed with Continental Trucking for 28 years, Blue Triangle for 6 years, and retired from Cannondale, after 7 years. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, football, baseball, westerns, and spending time with his friends.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Jim Miller, officiating. Burial at Bedford Cemetery.
