James L. Acker

James L. Acker 73, of Manns Choice, died Thursday, February 1, 2024.  He was born on August 12, 1950, in Bedford, a son of the late Lee Thomas and Marilyn Maxine (Mickle) Acker.  He married Janet (Hauck) Acker who survives along with two step-children: Brian Butler and Brenda Malone, both of Manns Choice: three grandchildren: Jessica Eshelman and husband Nathan, Jina and John Paluscio; and great-grandchildren: Geonna Van Pelt, Skylar Cole, Naudia Eshelman, and many others; and two sisters: Leslie Blevins and husband Charles, of Bedford, and Jody Mastrella and husband Louis, of Lititz.

James served in the U.S. Army from 70-72’ in Berlin, Germany.  He worked for the US Naval Department in Mechanicsburg, before moving back to Bedford and working for SAC Energy before he retired.  He enjoyed riding his lawn mower, and loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren immensely.
