Jacqueline Belle (Weaver) Tritt, 87, of Bedford, died Sunday, December 13, 2015 at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home. She was born on January 21, 1928 in Mt. Union, a daughter of the late Kenneth D. and Dorothy A. (Parsons) Weaver. She is survived by a son, James K. Tritt married to the former Stephanie Arnold of Bedford, a daughter, Barbara Jo McCoy and husband Rick, of Cumberland, MD, a daughter, Janice Ann Cauley, and husband Marlon, of Winder, GA, and a son Rusty J. Tritt, married to the former Rosie Deneen, of Everett; nine grandchildren: Risa Tritt-Florip, and husband John, Lydia Tritt-Siegelman, and husband David, Krista Harper, Jason McCoy, and wife Juli, Matthew McCoy, Alexander Jackard, James Jackard, Zachary Tritt, and Wesley Tritt; four great-grandchildren: Brandon Harper, Jonathan Harper, Audrey McCoy, and Amelia McCoy; and a brother C. Wilson Weaver, and wife Anna Mae, of Somerset. She was preceded in death by three sisters: Patricia Beegle, husband Gene, surviving of Martinsburg, Jane Weaver, and Dawn Weaver.
Jacqueline was a 1945 graduate of Bedford High School, and was a member, former Deacon, and Sunday School Teacher at the Bedford Presbyterian Church. She was employed at numerous places over the years including the Washington Bakery, Washington Coffee Shop, Jim’s Sandwich Shop, the former Bedford Springs Hotel, and retired from Fisher’s Pharmacy after 27 years. She was a teacher’s aid for South Elementary, and was a caregiver for two family’s in Bedford. She served on the Election Board, and volunteered in the Theatre at the Bedford Village. Jacqueline was a life time member of The Order of the Eastern Star, and was a member of the BPW, where she served two terms as president. She enjoyed going to lunch with friends from high school, reading, cooking, and spending time with her family, and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., at the Bedford Presbyterian Church, in Bedford, with the Rev. Doug Friant officiating. Burial at Bedford Cemetery. Friends will be received on Monday, from 5-9 p.m., at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
