Jack E. Steinbrunner

Jack E. Steinbrunner, 84, of Bedford, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at UPMC Altoona Hospital, with his family at his side.  He was born on January 17, 1931, in Altoona a son of the late L. Karl Steinbrunner and Grayce E. (Garland) Frank. On December 5, 1951 in New York City, NY, on the Bride and Groom show, he married Genevieve (Hazlett) Steinbrunner, his wife of 64 years, who survives along with a daughter, Jackie J. Blackburn, and husband Jeffrey, of Bedford,   two sons: Karl P. Steinbrunner, married to the former Suzanne Salathe, of Bedford, and Thomas E. Steinbrunner, of Easton; six grandchildren: Justin Blackburn and wife Lisa, Jenna Treece and husband Jared, Brooke Knisely and husband Daniel, Lucas, Gretchen, and Jeremiah Steinbrunner; and 12 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a brother Karl Steinbrunner.

Mr. Steinbrunner was a member of the Bedford Bible Church.  He retired after 32 years with Washington National Insurance Company, and served in the Navy during the Korean War, on the USS Shea as a Fire Control Technician.   He enjoyed bowling for the Blackburn Russell Bowling Team, and teaching Sunday School.  He loved his family, and never knew a stranger.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 12:00 p.m., at the Bedford Bible Church, located in Lakewood Manor, with Rev. Rex Lusk, officiating.  Burial will be private.  Friends will be received on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m., until the hour of the service at the Church.  Arrangements by the Timothy A.
