Jack W. Grundy

Jack W. Grundy 80, of Bedford, died Saturday, July 12, 2008 at his Residence. He was born on March 7, 1928 in Somerset County, a son of the late John and Hazel (Sapp) Grundy. On November 18, 1947 in Indiana, he married Eleanor Putt and she survives along with two sons: Rodney E. Grundy married to the former Becky Murrell of Richmond, VA, and Thomas L. Grundy married to the former Karen Brown of Mechanicsville, VA, Three grandchildren: Heather wife of Richard Hale Jr., Paula wife of Benjamin Winn, and Jeremiah Grundy and wife Ivy, two great grandchildren: Kai Michael Tolentino and Shane Nathaniel Hale, and one sister, Edith wife of Jerry Harrison of Onalaska, WI. He was preceded in death by four sisters: Alice and Ora Lorrian Grundy, Gladys Ober and Bernice Holt, and one brother Bernard Grundy.
Mr. Grundy was a graduate of Indiana High School class of 1946, a member of the Bedford United Methodist Church, and Bedford Masonic Lodge #320 F&AM, and the Harrisburg Consistory. He retired from Hedstrom in 1985 and prior to that worked as a manager for Acme Markets.
Funeral Services: Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with the Rev. Jeffery Welsch officiating. Burial in Bedford Cemetery. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 PM, at the funeral home.
