J. Francis Imgrund

J. Francis Imgrund 82 of E. Penn St., Bedford, died early Thursday morning, January 1, 2009 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.  He was born November 2, 1926 in Bedford TWP, son of the late Clarence A. and Bernadette E. (Leonard) Imgrund.  He was preceded in death by his first wife Lois I. McIntyre in 1968 and his second wife, Marlyn R. (Smith) Heidorn in1993.  He is survived by the following family, Kevin Imgrund and wife Linda of Lititz, Carol wife of Eric Von Bouwel of Belgium, Gregory Imgrund of Tracy, CA, Maura wife of John Clapper of Bedford, Matthew Imgrund of Texas, Bridget wife of Robert Jarsulic of Baden, Kristopher Imgrund and wife Debria of St. Marys, GA, Bernie wife of William Smith of Altoona, three step-children: Marl Heidorn and wife Betty of Bedford, Rick Heidorn and wife Marie of Everett and Lisa Heidorn of Bedford.  Also surviving are 25 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and a brother James C. Imgrund of Mechanicsburg, two sisters, Rita wife of Dr. Robert Vislosky of Indiana and Jeanne M. Phillips of Bedford.  He was preceded in death by a brother Joseph Imgrund, husband of Phyllis Imgrund of Bedford and a sister Mary Margaret Wilson.

Mr. Imgrund was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, was a member of the Bedford Grange, Knights of Columbus, former treasure for Bedford County Grange Mutual Insurance Co, and  served with the Army for two years.  He retired in 1990 from the US Postal Service as a rural mail carrier.

Funeral Mass: Wednesday, January 7, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Thomas Catholic Church in Bedford with Father Donald Dusza celebrant.  Burial at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, where a vigil for the deceased will be held at 8:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3759 Business Route 220, Ste #202, Bedford, or the Bedford Ambulance Service, 130 W.
