J. Louise (Clapper) Gardner

J. Louise Gardner, 87, of Everett, died on February 18, 2018, at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home. She was born on April 13, 1930, in Ore Hill, a daughter of the late William and Alice (Hall) Clapper. On November 27, 1971, in Roaring Spring, she married Charles "Skip" Gardner who survives along with the following nieces and nephews:  Joyce, Jerry, Mary, Glenda, Karen, Luann, Nikole, Cindy, John, Curt, Caitlin, Ardan, Brian, Kala, Amanda, Brant, Noah, and Josh.

She was preceded in death by two sisters: Gertrude Claar and Norma Mae Young, and one brother, Johnny Clapper.

Janet graduated from Morrison Cove High School in 1949 and worked for Deist Cleaners for 40 years and retired in 1996.  She enjoyed needle work, crocheting and working with her hands.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford with Jim Miller officiating.  Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.  Friends will be received on Tuesday, from 5 - 8 pm at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Those wishing can make memorial contributions in Louise’s name to St. Jude Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
