Irma M. Davidson, 85 of the Masonic Homes in Elizabethtown, formerly of Bedford, died peacefully on Sunday, June 17th, 2012. She was born on November 28, 1926 in Colerain Township near Rainsburg, the only child of the late Rolla and Erma (Housel) Miller. On September 19, 1954 she married Donald G. Davidson of Bedford and he preceded her in death on April 9, 2007. She is survived by a son, William (Bill) C. Davidson married to the former Nancy Herring, and two grandchildren, Sara and Ryan, all of Santa Rosa, CA. Also surviving are five nieces and nephews and their families, Don Raugh and Margie Giberson, both of New Providence, Bob Naus and Nancy Stevenson, both of Hollidaysburg, and Bill Raugh of Lancaster. Also surviving is a very special cousin, Hazel Calhoun, of Everett. She was preceded in death by one nephew, Jim Raugh.
In her early years, Irma was raised in Colerain Township by her maternal grandparents Lawrence and Elsie Housel, where she attended the one-room Schaeffer School. She later moved to Bedford and became a member of the Bedford United Methodist Church. This is where she met her future husband Donald. She enjoyed being a homemaker, but did part-time cooking and cleaning over the years. Irma loved music, her flower garden, and planting and canning vegetables. She enjoyed her camping trips to Lancaster County while visiting with her special nephew Don Raugh and his family, plus visits from her son Bill and his family. In later years she was adored by those providing care for her in the 12 years she was a resident of the Masonic Homes.
