Ida "Peggy" Margaret Mccammon Ritchey

Ida Margaret "Peggy" McCammon Ritchey, of Bedford, died on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Bedford Colonial Courtyard. She was born on August 31, 1935, in Latrobe, a daughter of the late Charles and Ida (Rush) Barr. On November 1, 1997, in Loysburg she married Joel Ritchey who survives along with a daughter, Deborah McCammon of Jonestown; 12 grandchildren:  Robbie, Liese, Chelsea, Aaron, Matthew, Maggie, Jordan, Kylee, Serena, Nathan, Michael, and Abigail; and 12 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by two children: Jerry “Buddy” McCammon and Karen Jasper.

Peggy was an active member at St. John’s Reformed Church in Loysburg.  She worked for Bedford County Children and Youth Services and was the co-owner of OtisDawg Homemade Dog Treats.  She previously raised sheep and competed in the Sheep to Shawl competition at the Harrisburg farm show.  She was a member of the Children and Youth Advisory Board and was very close with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 2, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the St. John's Reformed Church in Loysburg, with Rev. Dr. David Meckley officiating.  Burial at Lower Loysburg Cemetery. Friends will be received on Sunday from 3 -7 p.m. at the St. John’s Reformed Church in Loysburg and 1 hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. Arrangements by Timothy A.
