Ian Timothy Thompson, 18, of South Richard Street, Bedford, died Wednesday, July 19, 2006 in his sleep. He was born on January 17, 1988, beloved son of Connie (O’Donnell) Thompson and the late Tim Thompson. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother Patricia O’Donnell of Pittsburgh, and his paternal grandfather Abe Thompson, Nevada. He will be sorely missed by his aunts and uncles, Richard and Barbara Lewis, Graham and Christine Straub, Patricia Brandt, Thomas and Clare Byrnes, Peter and Shari O’Donnell Richard and Virginia O’Donnell of Pittsburgh , Mark and Sandra O’Donnell of Harrisburg, Keith and Susan Berg of Iowa and John and Julie Thompson of Minnesota as well as many cousins. Along with his father, he was preceded in death by maternal grandfather John O’Donnell and paternal grandmother Lois Thompson.
Ian was an avid reader, he loved to swim, and always had a happy smile in spite of his illness. He was sunshine to everyone who knew him and his loss will be felt by his many friends.
Funeral Mass Friday July 21 at 12:00 PM from the St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Peter Akin-Otiko celebrant. Visitation Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Pittsburgh.
