Homer A. Rose

Homer A. Rose, 82 of Park Road, Bedford Valley, died Friday, July 16, 2010 at WMHS in Cumberland, MD. He was born January 15, 1928 in Cumberland, son of the late G. Sherman and Nellie (Deremer) Rose. On March 20, 1954 in Bedford Valley in married Alma Williams and she survives along with one son Kenneth B. Rose married to the former Christina Kirby, of Hancock, MD. Also surviving are two sisters; Mildred Stiffler of Youngstown, OH and Bernice Evans of New Paris, two brothers; Robert E Rose and wife Delcia, and Donald E. Rose and wife Mona, both of Baltimore, MD. He was preceded in death by a sister Marian Ruk.
Mr. Rose was a life member of Providence Lutheran Church. He was a Cumberland Valley TWP Supervisor and Roadmaster for the past 21 years. He owned Evitts Mountain Orchard for 15 years, and was retired from PPG after 25 years of service.
Funeral Service: Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. from the Providence Lutheran Church in Bedford Valley with Rev. Robert Custer officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery in Centerville.
