Henry R. Pahl

Henry R. “Ronnie” Pahl, 75, of Chalybeate Road, Bedford, died Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Conemaugh Memorial Health System in Johnstown. He was born on June 29, 1936 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Henry C. and Kathryn (Prazer) Pahl.  On December 31, 1957 in Winchester, VA, he married the love of his life, Nadine Mae Claar, and she survives along with a daughter, Rhonda G. wife of Charles Twigg of Hyndman, a son Kevin R. Pahl, married to the former Lori Miller of Schellsburg.  Also surviving are six grandchildren; Chuckie, Joel, Ashley, Aaron, Ali and Evan, and three great grandchildren; Gavin, Aubrie and Mason.  He was preceded in death by a half-sister Martha Coleman.

Mr. Pahl was a member of St. John’s UCC Church in Bedford, and had worked as a truck driver, retiring from Venezia Transport, and prior to that had driven for Pitt-Ohio and Suwak.  He was an Army Veteran and a member of the Bedford American Legion and the Pleasantville VFW.  He was the last original member of the Fort Bedford Antique Car Club, and was a NASCAR racing fan belonging to the Bob’s Creek Racing Club.  He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and loved to mow his lawn, and all of his neighbor’s lawns.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 19, 2012 at 1:00 p. m. in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Rev. Jeff Ling officiating.  Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park with military rites conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.  Friends will be received on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Our online guest book is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
