Helen R. Oster

Helen R. Oster, 86, of Tucson, AZ, formerly of Bedford, PA, died on November 12, 2015 at her daughter’s residence in Tucson, AZ.  She was born on September 12, 1929, in Dawson, PA a daughter of the late William F. and Olive G. (Colbert) Ridenour. On September 22, 1950, in Cumberland, MD, she married Carl E. "Gene" Oster who preceded her in death on November 4, 1960.  She is survived by a son: William B. Oster married to the former Mary Parkinson of Las Vegas, NV; a daughter, Karen L. Halstead and husband Jeffrey, of Tucson, AZ.  Three grandchildren: Heather (Parkinson) Guski, and husband Bryan of  Bremerton, WA, and Dawn (Oster) Stanley, and husband Christopher of Emmett, ID, and Colby B Oster and fiancée Jessica Cramer of Las Vegas, NV, and seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Michael G. Oster, and a grandson, Franklin Eugene Halstead.  Helen was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church, south of Centerville, PA, and retired in 1985 as a Food Service Supervisor for the Bedford Area School District. She was a member for the Pennsylvania Assoc. of School Retirees, Bedford County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Assoc. of School Retirees and the Centerville Senior Citizens.

A memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Bethel United Methodist Church 4 miles south of Centerville, with Pastor Joyce Hillegass officiating.  Friends will be received one hour prior to the memorial service at the church.  Arrangements by the Timothy A.
