Helen C. Kelley

Helen C. Kelley, 61, of Carlisle passed away Monday, June 13, 2011 at Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill. She was born August 5, 1950 in Bedford, daughter of the late William R. and Helen C. (Sill) Kelley. She resided in Saxton until her graduation from Tussey Mountain High School.
She received a Bachelor’s Degree from Elizabethtown College, and a Master’s Degree from Penn State University, both in education. She was a teacher for Newville Elementary School, Dillsburg. She was a member of the Church of God, and was an avid Penn State football fan. She loved to shop and travel with her friends, especially to New York City at Christmas time. She had a passion for teaching and after retiring she tutored reading.
Surviving is a brother, John R. Kelley of West Chester, two cousins; Norman Sill of Chesapeake, VA and Stephen Kachman and wife Cathy, and their children William and Zachary Kachman of Bedford.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at Bedford Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Helen to the Library of your choice.
